
Certified Prevention Specialist Exam Preparation Course

The Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) Exam Preparation Course will assist in preparing participants to study for and subsequently take the newly revised CPS exam. This course covers the requirements and application process to become a Certified Prevention Specialist. The workshop presenters will discuss the International Certification and Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC), authors of the exam, how the exam was developed, and how it is conducted. The workshop presenters will identify the domains and tasks covered in the new exam, study resources, the types of questions that are on the exam and tips for studying and taking the exam. There will be an opportunity to establish a study group.
Training Dates & Times: Thursday, August 12, 2010; 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m.

CEUs: This full day workshop provides six hours of continuing education (.6 CEUs). It covers the prevention specific ethics materials needed for the ICRC prevention exam and meets the ICRC ethics requirements for Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS). This class also meets Texas LCDC requirements for the required ethics course.
