Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST)

CSAP's Southwest Center for the Application of Prevention Technology, DSHS Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Section, Prevention Resource Centers, and the Texas Education Agency's Regional Education Service centers are collaborating to bring Substance Abuse Prevention Specialist Training (SAPST) to locations nation wide. The training covers the fundamental knowledge base for substance abuse prevention professionals. The training includes the following modules:

1. Introduction to Prevention
2. Prevention Research
3. Cultural Competence and Inclusion
4. Prevention Program Planning
5. Evaluation
6. Using Human Development in Prevention
7. The Media and Prevention
8. Bringing It All Together

Training Dates:

  • July 19-23, 2010. Austin, TX. Registration can be completed through Texas Behavorial Health Institute
